A John Waters Christmas
December 4, 2014

John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) performs an unforgettable night of holiday mischief with his critically acclaimed one man show, A John Waters Christmas.  Waters pokes fun at the holiday season with adult-appropriate humor, effectively “putting the X in Xmas,” developing a show for the open minded and slightly left-of-center audience.

Regarded as a shocking entertainer, John Waters carefully chooses his material and exploits it through a dirty lens. “It’s my obsession with Christmas: what I want for Christmas, what you should want, how to handle every holiday disaster,” Waters says.  His rapid-fire monologue explores and explodes the traditional holiday rituals and traditions as he shares his religious fanaticism for Santa Claus, and an unhealthy love of real life holiday horror stories.  Delving into his passion for lunatic exploitation Christmas movies and the unhealthy urge to remake all his own films into seasonal children’s classics, “The Pope of Trash” will give you a Joyeaux Noel like no other.

Merle Haggard
December 9, 2014

At the age of 73 the veteran singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer/bandleader is still making some of the most compelling music of his long and storied career.  It almost goes without saying that Merle Haggard is widely regarded as country music's greatest living recording artist.  A rugged individualist who simultaneously embodies and transcends the genre, Haggard is both a seminal superstar and an unrepentant outsider.  Over the course of a remarkably prolific five-decade career, he's consistently shown himself to be an uncompromising creative force, far more concerned with pursuing his iconoclastic vision than with meeting the expectations of the music-industry establishment.
Along the way, Haggard has scored no less than 39 #1 country hits; won various Grammy, CMA and ACM awards; become the only California-born artist in the Country Music Hall of Fame; been the only country performer ever featured on the cover of the jazz bible Downbeat; as well as the only man to be invited to perform at the White House and invited to serve time in San Quentin Penitentiary.

Dead Kennedys
Featuring: East Bay Ray and Klaus Flouride, DH Peligro, Skip McSkipster
January 17, 2015

Dead Kennedys were one of the most popular and important American hardcore punk bands of the late 70s / early 80s.  Their sound could be described as a cross between The Sex Pistols and The Ventures, and live, they are a combination of chaos and theatrics.  Their first single hit in 1979.  Their early works were known for yuppie-baiting lyrics and evil-sounding music, underpinned by an acute sense of humor, and as they grew, the musical content diversified.  Their highly unique music bears traces of surf music, spaghetti western, psychedelic rock, garage rock, and rockabilly, and follows in the footsteps of such earlier rock satirists as Frank Zappa and non-musical countercultural figures like Abbie Hoffman and Lenny Bruce.

Allan Holdsworth is widely regarded by fans and contemporary musicians as one of the 20th century's most prominent guitarists. He is one of a handful of musicians who has consistently proven himself as an innovator in between and within the worlds of rock and jazz music. Many of music's best-known instrumental masters cite Holdsworth as that rare and shining voice—a legendary player who continues to push the outer limits of instrumental technique and the electric guitar's range of tonal and textural possibilities. Particularly during the 90s, Holdsworth has enjoyed the recognition so many musicians strongly feel he deserves, given that he has developed his career outside the big label mainstream and has consistently produced his own recordings with complete creative control since the mid-80s
