Craig Shoemaker’s Comedy All-Stars
Featuring Taylor Tomlinson & Dave Reinitz
February 17, 2016

Taylor Tomlinson started doing stand up comedy at just sixteen years old, when she realized that her quiet, sarcastic asides were not being adequately appreciated by her peers. Her self deprecating charm and conversational wit have made her a favorite at comedy clubs, colleges, and corporate events across the country. She was featured in her own weekly segment ("Young as Hell") on Laughs on FOX and can be seen on this season of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Like a modern day minimalist Robin Hood, Dave steels small things from big companies, not just to get even but to feel even. Dave appeals to the smart and silly sides of the audience. He was a founding member of the Anti War Comedy Tour and is heard regularly on the 99% Funnies podcast. In his spare time he in a partner in Flappers Comedy Clubs and has been teaching teaches standup comedy for the last 10 years.

Judy Collins
February 26, 2016

Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Five decades later, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 50-album body of work, and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century.

The award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchell's “Both Sides Now” from her landmark 1967 album, Wildflowers, has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy’s dreamy and sweetly intimate version of “Send in the Clowns,” a ballad written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music, won "Song of the Year” at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She’s garnered several top-ten hits gold- and platinum-selling albums. Recently, contemporary and classic artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Shawn Colvin, Dolly Parton, Joan Baez, and Leonard Cohen honored her legacy with the album Born to the Breed: A Tribute to Judy Collins.

Paul Stanley’s Soul Station
February 27, 2016

KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley takes the stage with a new and somewhat surprising configuration, a “soul music revue” performing 60s and 70s classics.  Songs like “Ooo Baby” by The Miracles, “Just My Imagination” by The Temptations, and The Stylistics’ “You Are My Everything” are among the repertoire.  Paul Stanley’s Soul Station is a nine person band made of players who have performed with artists from Christina Aguilera to Bobby Brown.  KISS drummer Eric Singer is also in the group.

Stanley explains the impetus behind his new endeavor, “"We're living in a time of being fed canned pre-programmed backing tracks and lip syncing in place of the electricity and passion of real live R&B," Stanley said. "When I was a boy, before I ever saw the Who or Led Zeppelin, I saw Solomon Burke and Otis Redding. I saw the Temptations and all that music is part of the foundation of the music I've made. Soul Station is my chance to celebrate it for a night that's real, live and faithfully recreates the sound with the respect it deserves.... These songs, arrangements and sound just blow you away."

Gin Blossoms
March 5, 2016

Fueled by mega-hits including "Hey Jealousy," "Found Out About You" and "Til I Hear It From You," Gin Blossoms completed the classic crossover from college-circuit heroes to multi-platinum album sellers.  Their initial releases on A&M Records included Up and Crumbling and the multi-platinum selling New Miserable Experience, featuring the single, "Hey Jealousy" which peaked at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Four more singles followed. Congratulations I'm Sorry, which was released in 1996, was the Blossom's final original album of the decade bringing them two more hits … "Follow You Down" which spent ten weeks in the Top Ten and "As Long As It Matters" which earned the group a Grammy nomination for "Best Performance by a Duo or Group." The album debuted in Billboard's Top Ten and a year of touring helped put the record past 1,500,000 units sold.

In 2005, former A&M president Al Cafaro resigned the band and partnered to record their 3rd full length album in over 10 years. Major Lodge Victory landed on Billboard’s Top 200 and was the # 10 Indie album of the year. Released on August 8th, 2006, it included hits “Learning The Hard Way” and the appropriately titled “Long Time Gone.”

Their most recent album, 2010’s No Chocolate Cake, landed Gins back on the singles chart again with “Miss Disarray” and the album shot straight to # 1 on Amazon.

P.O.D. with The Dead Deads
March 6, 2016

P.O.D. (Payable on Death) formed in San Diego, CA, in 1992, and have since charted their own course with worldwide sales exceeding 10 million, hugely successful international tours, and a series of chart-topping radio hits. Over the span of two decades they have released eight studio albums of original songs – including the triple-platinum Satellite – seen chart success with more than a dozen Rock radio hits, including “Southtown,” “Alive,” “Youth of the Nation,” and “Boom,” the Active Rock hit “Beautiful” and their No. 1 single, “Lost In Forever,” received three GRAMMY Award® nominations, and racked up four No. 1 music videos.

A supergroup formed from members of The Wolf Sisters, PRIM! and Catfight in the summer of 2013, this powerhouse of live performance is based in Nashville, Tennessee. The musical influences of the group vary from girl to girl, but the common thread is drum-based rock bands like The Melvins, The Foo Fighters and Torche. Audiences may be curious as they see five girls with X’s over their eyes set up amps and tune guitars, but once the wall of sound washes over them, they forget who they were there to see and are spirited away into the dark and magical world of The Dead Deads.

Reverend Horton Heat
With Unknown Hinson and Legendary Shack Shakers
& Lincoln Durham
March 19, 2016

Loaded .38s, space heaters, and big skies. Welcome to the lethal, littered landscape of Jim Heath's imagination. True to his high evangelical calling, Jim is a Revelator, both revealing & reinterpreting the country-blues-rock roots of American music. He's a time-travelling space-cowboy on an endless interstellar musical tour, and we are all the richer and "psychobillier" for getting to tag along.

Seeing REVEREND HORTON HEAT live is a transformative experience. Flames come off the guitars. Heat singes your skin. There's nothing like the primal tribal rock 'n roll transfiguration of a Reverend Horton Heat show. Jim becomes a slicked-back 1950?s rock 'n roll shaman channeling Screamin' Jay Hawkins through Buddy Holly, while Jimbo incinerates the Stand-Up Bass. And then there are the "Heatettes".

While singing his own hilariously politically incorrect songs, Unknown Hinson plays guitar in a style incendiary enough to have Satan himself reaching for the antiperspirant. But don't dismiss him as a novelty act. He's one hell of a talent and has the music to prove it!

The Legendary Shack Shakers’ hell-for-leather roadshow has earned quite a name for itself with its unique brand of Southern Gothic that is all-at-once irreverent, revisionist, dangerous, and fun. Led by their charismatic, rail-thin frontman and blues-harpist JD Wilkes, the Shack Shakers are a four-man wrecking crew from the South whose explosive interpretations of the blues, punk, rock and country have made fans, critics and legions of potential converts into true believers.

Air Supply
April 8, 2016

Graham Russell & Russell Hitchcock met on May 12, 1975, at rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia; they became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing.

In 1980 "Lost in Love" became the fastest selling single in the world, leaping to the top of all of the charts and was named Song of the Year. Seven top-five singles later, Air Supply at that time had equaled The Beatles' run of consecutive top five singles. The albums Lost in Love, The One That You Love, Now & Forever, and The Greatest Hits sold in excess of 20 million copies.

The trademark sound of Russell Hitchcock's soaring tenor voice and Graham Russell's simple yet majestic songs created a unique sound that would forever be known as Air Supply.

Ozomatli
April 16, 2016

Bursting onto the L.A. stage with their first eponymously titled album in June 1998, Ozomatli capitalized on being the talk of the live music scene, particularly their show stopping gigs.  By 1999, they were touring with Carlos Santana and soon won the Grammy for "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album" for 2001’s

EMBRACE THE CHAOS. They repeated history in 2004 by winning again in the same category for their album STREET SIGNS.  In the band's nearly twenty years together, they have toured internationally, collaborated with the Boston and New York Pops orchestras, and served as Cultural Ambassadors for the U.S. State Department.

When they were formed, Ozomatli symbolized an emerging, multicultural Los Angeles. Over the years Ozomatli has become the ultimate jam band, pulling together the strands of creativity into a unique rhythmic machine.

Temptations founder and leader Otis Williams keeps the music alive for 50 years!  The Temptations are one of the most iconic bands in the history of American music.  Indeed, they are an institution noted for their precise choreography and blend of R&B vocal sensibilities.  A continuous line up of 5 highly talented male singers working together as a vocal powerhouse has propelled the Temptations thru out their 50-year history. Iron Butterfly
May 14, 2016

Iron Butterfly came bursting onto the music scene of the late 60s and early 70s with a sound that not only epitomized the hard attitudes of the youth of the day with its heavy drumming and bass lines, but also embrace more delicate aspirations through intricate guitar and keyboard overlays.  They toured with acts like The Doors, Jefferson Airplay, The Grateful Dead, Traffic, The Who, and Cream.  Their monumental LP, “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” featured the 17:05 minute side-long track that shook the entire music industry with its phenomenal reception.  “Vida” outsold every record in the history of recorded music within the first year of its release, and was awarded the music industry’s very first platinum album!  To date, the album has sold in excess of 30 million copies and remains an undisputed classic worldwide!

The Tubes
July 22, 2016

The Tubes will go down in the rock history books as one of the most exciting, in-your-face tight-knit group of musicians who epitomised the hilarity of popular American culture by making it into a the ultimate rock’n’roll extravaganza. Their live shows involved mock bondage rituals, simulated sex, 12-foot high rock stars by the name of Quay Lude singing ‘White Punks On Dope’, exploding televisions, chainsaws and an array of semi-clad dancers. Some say they were about 15 years ahead of Madonna, and light years ahead of the politically correct.
